As a professional yachtsman, marine surveyor and highly experienced project manager with a maritime career spanning over thirty five years on vessels between 24 - 156 meters, and as a manager on major build projects, I bring a wealth of knowledge and an extensive skillset to my next position. Having countless sea miles across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Pacific on both private and charter yachts, I carry an in-depth understanding of the diverse industry and the requirements for success. Furthermore, with extensive large superyacht new build, refit and warranty experience, I have a strong background in people management. I pride myself in being a personable, hands-on leader, and work closely with my teams to get the best out of their performance. My approachability and organisation skills help to deliver a first-class, smooth operation in every project.

Owner's Project Manager

Owner’s representative for the construction of this 100 meter motor yacht. Responsible to the yacht’s Owner and Owner’s Representative. My responsibilities for this project include, but are not limited to:

Liaison with the Owner and Owner’s Representative to develop and implement the Owner’s expectations for the yacht

  • Developing the build specification pre-contract

  • Developing the technical and functional layout of the yacht pre-contract

  • Assiting in selection of a suitable shipyard to undertake the project

  • Reviewing the shipbuilding agreement (build contract)

As Warranty Manager, my responsibilities were to project manage warranty works during shipyard and extended vessel downtime, to ensure a smooth and expedited resolution of all issues.

Owner’s Build Supervisor

Successfully lead an on-site owner’s build team of fourteen to supervise the construction of one of the largest super yachts in production at the time. This was a major role including many facets of new-build management. Including, but not limited to:

  • Interior outfitting

  • Coatings inspection

  • Safety compliance

  • Helicopter compliance

  • Tenders specification and build

  • Build team manager

  • Build supervision

Initially as a production manager I oversaw the construction of cranes, shell doors and light masts. This included scheduling, labour management and drawing approvals. Further work with quotes, purchasing, logistics and liaising with class and flag followed as I progressed to an Operations Manager role with TLC ltd.

Joined as member of owner’s build team. On delivery, served as Chief Officer, Relief Master and Master where responsibilities included:

  • Responsible for design concepts and final outfitting

  • SOLAS, MCA, flag state classification society and ISM compliance

  • Commissioning protocols and all aspects of on board safety

  • Two full seasons cruising with owners and guests around the Mediterranean, North Atlantic and the Caribbean

Oversaw numerous Lloyd’s Register surveys, a major refit and bringing the vessel up to full MCA compliance, in addition to two successful seasons with both owners and private guests.

Chief Officer / Owner’s Representative

Owner’s representative for fourteen months during the construction and oversaw inspection of all non-engineering areas. Upon delivery, I set up and implemented safety procedures and training and bridge procedures, including cruising with owners and private guests.
