About Mark

I have spent a total of 37 years in the superyacht industry and a combined 22 years as a senior member of project teams on six superyacht new build projects and multiple vessel refits in various shipyards worldwide. From scantlings and technical outfitting to exterior and interior finish, I have depth and breadth of experience and knowledge of what is required to achieve a seven-star product. This has provided invaluable experience for owner representation in forging new build teams, project management, quality control, labour control, budgeting, design and protecting the owner's interests.

Currently I am Owner's Project Manager for a 100 meter Feadship Motor Yacht new build project. Some of my recent projects were acting as Owner's Project Manager for the 87 meter Lürssen Motor Yacht Avantage (Project Hawaii), Project Supervisor and then Warranty Manager for the 156 meter Lürssen Motor Yacht Dilbar (Project Omar), managing the Owner's build team, warranty, internal and external contracts and coordinating a large number of external consultants.

Prior to coming ashore, I was seagoing for 20 years serving on superyachts and culminating in command of the 86 metre motor yacht Ecstasea. I have extensive experience in the day to day running of superyachts, including sound fiscal, asset, operational and human resource management.

I hold an MSc in Marine Surveying from Middlesex University (UK) and a Certificate in Project Management from the IBC Academy. I am also a qualified ISM Lead Auditor.

I am a qualified Visual Weld Inspector with the UK’s Welding Institute in Cambridge assisting in conflict resolution arising from structural inspections. In addition, I am a qualified and experienced Coatings Inspector and have also worked as a Production Manager and Operations Manager for a manufacturer of ship's shell-side doors, cranes, davits and boarding ladders.

I am a Member of The International Institute of Marine Surveyors, an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute an Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects and an Associate Member of the Welding Institute.
